Professional training in a nurturing environment

Our MNI, JNR, INT and SNR student streams allow our teachers to provide a highly tailored, technique focused, and age appropriate dance and movement curriculum. The Studio is Kiama's only R.A.D specialised dance studio. In our fun, nurturing and engaging space, our timetabled classes accommodate ages 3 to 17.

STUDENT AGE GROUPS

AGES 3 TO 17


  • AGES 3 - 6

    Our MNI stream is focused on exploring movement in fun and creative ways. MNI classes use imagination and storytelling to introduce students to dance, music, movement, coordination and cooperation.

    MNI ballet students learn Pre-Primary to Grade 1 RAD curriculum.

 

  • AGES 7 - 10

    Our JNR stream builds the technical and creative foundations of dance and movement, whilst maintaining a fun and nurturing environment.

    JNR students start to understand technique, musicality and performance quality. Simple sequences are executed with confidence and increasing recall and creative expression.

    JNR ballet students learn Grade 1 to Grade 3 RAD curriculum.

 
  • AGES 15 - 17

    SNR students learn to perform a wide range of movements consistently, confidently and with a high degree of independence and self-expression.

    SNR students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of movement classes for increased mobility, flexibility, strength, stability and confidence.

    Their technical accuracy, dynamics, fluidity and use of space and musicality is honed.

    SNR students are able to demonstrate greater maturity and individuality in movement, interpretation and expression.

    SNR ballet students learn Advanced Foundation to Advanced 2 RAD curriculum.

 
 
  • Our PRIM stream explores movement in fun and creative ways and starts to introduce the technical aspects of dance.

    PRIM ballet students learn Pre-Primary to Primary RAD curriculum.

 
  • AGES 11 - 14

    INT students develop clear knowledge and understanding of technique, music and performance. This improves their ability to co-ordinate more complex movements to produce combinations of steps with increasing precision and control.

    INT students are encouraged through their technical skill to protecting their growing bodies, move with confidence, embrace greater mind-body connection and security of movement.

    INT classes allow students to explore their technical skill and creative expression with greater confidence and independence.

    INT ballet students learn Grade 4 to Intermediate RAD curriculum.

    Theatrical pink footed tights in soft semi-transparent matte material (note convertible stockings are best for JNR + to allow for shoe changes

    Pink soft ballet shoes in canvas - we recommend the Capezio Child Hanami Ballet Shoe

    Hair should be pulled back comfortably and securely into a high ballet bun

    Students may also choose to wear a black wrap and / or black wrap around skirt

    MASCULINE
